Short answer: In the vast majority of cases, US, Canadian, and UK dental insurance does not cover treatment performed in Egypt. Treat all pricing as self-pay unless you have written confirmation from your insurer stating otherwise.

Why? Most dental insurance plans operate within a limited geographic network. Treatment abroad is typically classified as out-of-network or excluded entirely. Some PPO plans may reimburse a small portion, but this is rare and requires pre-authorization.

A typical full journey looks like this:

For implants: No — and this is true worldwide. Dental implants require a biological healing phase (osseointegration) of 3–6 months before the final prosthesis can be placed. No ethical dentist — in Egypt, the US, or anywhere — will place a permanent implant-supported prosthesis on the same day as surgery.

If a clinic offers "implants in one visit," ask exactly what they mean. Some use same-day temporary bridges, which is legitimate — but the final permanent restoration still requires a second visit after healing.

If your treatment requires two visits, here is what happens:

• You return home after the first visit with a fixed temporary prosthesis and a complete aftercare protocol.
• Remote follow-ups continue via WhatsApp and telehealth at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months.
• Your second visit is scheduled in advance — typically 4–6 months after the first — and confirmed in writing in your original treatment plan.
• Pricing for the second visit is included in your original quote. You do not pay twice for the same treatment.
• Travel add-on costs apply per visit — meaning if you choose an add-on package, it applies to each trip separately. We give you a bundled estimate at the start.

Important: The second visit is not optional — it is required to place the final permanent prosthesis after healing. Final results cannot be achieved in a single visit for implant cases.

We operate on a structured milestone payment system (Holding Deposit, Protected Retainer, Balance at Clinic). While we do not offer direct in-house financing, many of our North American patients utilize third-party medical loans to cover their care.

We offer three levels of anesthesia, selected based on your procedure complexity and personal preference:

1. Local Anesthesia — Standard for single implants, crowns, and minor procedures. You remain fully awake and comfortable, with no pain sensation in the treated area.

2. Local Anesthesia + Oral Sedation — For patients with dental anxiety. Oral sedatives (like Valium or Halcion) are taken 30–60 minutes before the procedure. You remain conscious but deeply relaxed.

3. IV Sedation (Conscious Sedation) — Administered by a licensed anesthesiologist. You're in a dream-like state, relaxed and comfortable, with no memory of the procedure. Ideal for full-arch (All-on-4 / All-on-6) surgeries.

Important: General anesthesia is not typically required for dental implant procedures. All anesthesia is administered or supervised by licensed medical professionals in our JCI-aligned partner clinics.

Not suitable for: Patients on IV bisphosphonates for cancer, those with recent heart attack (within 6 months), active cancer treatment, uncontrolled diabetes, or severe immune disorders.

Your dentist will prescribe a personalized medication plan. Typical protocols include:

Antibiotics: Amoxicillin (or Clindamycin for penicillin-allergic patients) — usually 5–7 days post-op to prevent infection.

Pain relief: Ibuprofen 400mg (every 6–8 hours) and/or Paracetamol 500mg. Avoid aspirin, which can increase bleeding.

Anti-inflammatory: Prescribed for swelling control during the first 3–5 days.

Antiseptic mouthwash: Chlorhexidine 0.12% — starting 24 hours after surgery.

Important: Never exceed the maximum daily dose of Paracetamol (4,000 mg per day for adults). Do not combine multiple medications containing Paracetamol without medical advice.

You receive a complete written aftercare protocol before departure, covering:

Day 1–3: Rest, ice packs (20 min on / 20 min off), soft cold foods, avoid rinsing forcefully, no smoking, no straws.

Day 4–7: Gentle warm salt water rinses, soft foods (yogurt, soup, mashed potatoes), start prescribed antibiotics and mouthwash.

Week 2–4: Return to most normal activities, gradually introduce semi-solid foods, avoid hard/crunchy items, hygiene checks via telehealth.
